Following the successful first edition of the Lagrangian Particle Tracking (LPT) and Data Assimilation (DA) challenges organized in 2020, new LPT and DA challenges are being prepared, whose results will be presented between the ISFV21 and ISPIV2025 conferences in Tokyo, Japan, in June 2025.
In the LPT challenge, participants will be provided with images (two-pulse: pairs of single-exposure image sets; four-pulse: pairs of double-exposure image sets; time-resolved: short sequence of single-exposure images) acquired by a set of cameras, together with the calibration function. The participants should submit the particles positions, velocities and accelerations (when possibles) in three-dimensional space.
In the DA challenge, the participants will be provided with a short sequence of particle tracks (particles positions in three-dimensional space and particles identification numbers) and they shall submit the flow velocity, velocity gradient components and static pressure in a Cartesian grid.
